A Memorial Day Remembrance

Thank you for your sacrifice.

While we spend time with family, firing up the grills or road-tripping to a lovely cool spot, it is good to remember what we’re celebrating on Memorial Day. As such, we’d like to thank our service men and women who have fought and died for our right to live in a society of free ideals and thought. Memorial Day is a day when we remember those who served and died for the United States of America.

On a personal note, my father, Jacques B, passed away last June. He was a World War II USN vet who served aboard ships in the Pacific theater, most memorably at the Battle of Okinawa. We miss him greatly and wish him well on his journey.

New class times, now on Saturdays!

Given the huge demand we’ve had for Conceal Carry Handgun Permit classes and Pistol Safety For Women classes, we’ve expanded our class listing to include some dates on Saturdays in the future. We’re going to move our classes to an adjacent building with a little more room, and this means we can hold classes on Saturdays. Please note, we will keep our currently scheduled Sunday classes in place.

To check out our upcoming dates, please check the Classes section of the website.

Thanks,

CCP Class + Daylight Savings Time

Just a reminder to those folks who are joining us for the Conceal/Carry Permit class on Sunday morning (March 11th), Daylight Savings Time begins at 2AM, which means you should set your clocks AHEAD one hour on Saturday night. If you forget, you will be an hour+ late to the class on Sunday which is punishable by a bit o’ pistol whippin’, laps around the shop in your skivvies, a dunce cap in the dunce corner singing songs in pig latin about being a dunce… And anything else horrible we can think of.

So, don’t be late!

Thanks,

32nd Annual Dixie Deer Classic

Come and visit us at the 32nd Annual Dixie Deer Classic!

The Dixie Deer Classic has been recognized nationally as the Premier Trophy Whitetail Deer show in the country. It was the first successful show of its kind, and lit the spark that has brush fired into similar shows all across the nation. All available exhibit space is used to maximum advantage while keeping large aisle spacing for crowd movement. The show is held annually the tenth weekend of the year, usually the first weekend of March.

The Dixie Deer Classic is held at the spacious North Carolina State Fairgrounds in the Jim Graham Building, Dorton Arena, and The Exposition Center. Located in the center of the thriving Research Triangle Area of central North Carolina, the Fairgrounds are within easy driving distance for more than a million people. There is a restaurant within the Jim Graham Building, and snack bars in Dorton Arena and The Exposition Center. In addition, snacks are sold at various locations throughout the show. No pets are permitted into the show, and no smoking is allowed in the buildings. Weapons are not permitted, and the consumption of alcoholic beverages is forbidden on the premises.

The Dixie Deer Classic is a FAMILY oriented event, and we try to offer something for everyone. All youth under 13 have always been admitted free of charge and for the youth aged 13 to 18 we offer a half price ticket on Friday for $5.00. There will special programs all weekend for the young or beginning hunter, and fun stuff too, like face painting, BB gun Turkey Shoot, Archery Alley, Retriever Demos.

For more information, visit http://www.dixiedeerclassic.org

Unfortunately, this means we will be closed on Friday, March 2nd and Saturday, March 3rd.
